What WGS for tight bass - Metal style?

I'm looking for better speakers for my Mesa Triple Rectifier. My current speakers are Marshall Vintage speakers (slightly different than V30's) in a Marshall 1960BV cabinet. These speaker don't really cut through the mix and have a lot of bass.

I tried a Marshall 1960 cab with Webers (pre-rola Greenback 'clones') and it sounded better frequency wise, but had to much breakup for my liking.

My playing style is aggressive with a lot of palmmuting (shuggah shuggah) and single-note leads.

The Veteran 30 sounds a bit to scooped for what I have heard so far.

Please advice! :-)

Will 4 Reaper HP's be fine for my amp?

Actually, the Vet 30's are not "scooped" at all ... quite the opposite, they have a bit of upper mid-bump.  The Reapers are a much warmer (bassier) speaker ... so I wouldn't suggest that.  Since you state:

"I tried a Marshall 1960 cab with Webers (pre-rola Greenback 'clones') and it sounded better frequency wise, but had to much breakup for my liking."

I would strongly encourage you to consider 4 Invaders ... they are voiced very similar to vintage Green Backs ... with lots of throaty, urgent midrange ... but with three times the power handling, they don't break up early!

Also, lots of folks report back that they love the HM 75's in your kind of setting.
