Hey guys, I'm debating between the two speakers. The amp is a Crate V-16. It's a two EL-84 Marshallesque 112. It reminds me of a little JCM-800. Based on the various clips I have heard on Youtube I really like what I'm hearing out of the Green Beret. I really dig the dense midrange grind. However, I do wonder if I would be better suited with the reaper or the reaper 55hz as this is a small 112 open back and I play a strat. I am worried that the Green Beret will be too anemic and loose on the bottom. I feel the amp, at present, has sufficient bottom end and it is tight enough with the stock speaker (celestion 70/80). I do find the stock speaker very harsh on top and generally average sounding. Compared to the celestion will the Green Beret sound anemic down low or will it be comparable. If you think The reaper would better suit, regular or 55hz.

I use this amp at almost full gain and turn down my guitar for a cleanish tone. It's my goal to make this a small grab and go rehearsal, small gig amp.

Yes, in a open 1x12 you are probably right about "the Green Beret will be too anemic and loose on the bottom".

If you really like the GB's urgent, throaty sound ... go with an Invader, otherwise, I'd recommend the Reaper (not 55, not HP).
