I've owned a 10" Vet and must say I was very impressed with tone and build quality. The tone was very natural and pleasing,a nice low power tone,no harshness.I've seen other WGS speakers up close and again the quality and consistency seems to be there.I consider it a notch above Weber and even Eminence.

That said I'd love to some vintage type alnico models but perhaps a bit beefier than the standard 7 and 11 oz plug magnets and the 40oz monsters.Tone tubby does a 17 oz magnet series(10"&12") and if they were paper(instead of hemp)I'd be all over them(hemp's a bit rigid and dull for me). They are low profile ring magnets too so they'd fit in tight amps like a Blues Jr,Pro Jr,etc.I don't think the perfect 5e3/tweed speaker exists yet,the small plugs are too weak in a band context and the big magnets too bold.Just my.02

"I don't think the perfect 5e3/tweed speaker exists yet," ...
Yep ... because everybody expects different things from those little gals ... and treats them so differently!

I know Dean is working on some new mid-sized Alnico designs ... but I have not heard anything about a proposed launch timeline ... sorry !
