Hey gang,

Over the last couple of months I've been working on a project (per previous posts) that is now pretty much complete. I'm really happy with how it came out. I do have a couple of tweaks to do yet: adjust tone caps/resistors to make it a little less bass and more treble and use a heat gun to warm the piping and straighten it out. The piping comes somewhat wadded up and makes the grill cloth look uneven, however it is the piping that makes it look that way.

Looks great. That's a great simple amp design. Can't wait to hear a demo. Did you end up sourcing some decent GE 6A5Q tubes?

Still looking, hopefully for a decent deal. I decided to use a pair of NOS Westinghouse that I got for $35 to get it up and running. Once I get a couple of minor issues squared away I'll feel a little more "urgent" in getting those GEs.

Hmmm...I imagine Westinghouse are also beam tetrodes, unless made by Siemans. Still love to hear a demo at some point. You can apparently use 7189 in place of EL84:
