The 12” Veteran 30™ speaker from WGS is tonally superior to Celestion's™ Vintage 30™ speaker. The tonal improvement is in the upper-mids. The Veteran 30™ speaker has smoothed out the upper-mid "spike" notorious in the Vintage 30™ speaker.

12" Veteran 30 - 60 watts?

Thanks

Incredible Speaker

Almost returned a Peavey 6505 MH and Peavy 112-6 cab, despite getting a great deal on them, due to fizzy and sputtering tones. Sounded absolutely horrible unless playing at bedroom volumes.

While waiting for new tubes to arrive, I decided to also swap out the Celestion G12M Greenback 25W. Seems like wattage was part of the issue because running the amp at 5W and 1W helped, but not by much.

Enter the WGS Veteran 30 60W. Fizz and sputter are completely gone. No harsh high end or strange overtones. It simply sounds incredible. Perfect frequency response for the 6505 MH/112-6.

I've never enjoyed a speaker out of the box until Sounds like it is pretty much already broken in.

Couldn't be happier.

From Fane farty to British grind!

I replaced the stock Fane speaker in my Sound City SC20 with the Veteran 30. I can now turn the volume above half-way and not get the farty low-end I was getting with the OE speaker, and it sounds fuller too, as in more of everything from top to bottom. The fit was tight as the magnet just clears the preamp tubes by a millimeter, but it works fantastic! This is the 5th different WGS speaker I have bought, and I have yet to be disappointed.
I will be back again!

Most excellent!

Have a 90s AVT2000 50 watt combo. I was never happy with the tone in it so I rarely used it. The kind guys at WGS made me a special 4 ohm veteran 30 for it and the amp came alive. It’s now a very usable amp. The veteran 30 has quite literally saved this amp’s life from the scrap pile.
Thanks so much!

Man Overboard

Man Overboard

New Jersey-based emo-pop players Man Overboard carry the flame of melodic, energetic, hardcore-influenced Garden State bands like Lifetime and Midtown. Founded in 2008 by childhood friends Nik Bruzzese (vocals/bass) and Wayne Wildrick (guitar), the pair began writing at Bruzzese's studio, bringing Zac Eiestenstein (vocals/guitar) and Justin Mondschein (drums) into the fold to record debut EP Hung Up on Nothing. Signing to Run for Cover the following year, the band offered a second EP, Dahlia. In 2010, Man Overboard fired on all cylinders, releasing the acoustic EP Noise from Upstairs as well as studio album debut Real Talkand a self-released live recording. The band also faced lineup changes that year -- Wildrick left the band for personal reasons and Justin Collier filled in on guitar duty, making way for new drummer Mike Hrycenko -- but came back big by joining the Rise Records roster. By spring 2011, Wildrick rejoined the band, as they recorded a self-titled sophomore album and hit the road on the Pop Punk’s Not Dead tour alongside New Found Glory that fall. Adding to the momentum, Man Overboard, released that September, landed on the Billboard 200, Top Hard Rock Albums, and Top Independent Albums charts. Drummer Joe Talarico replaced Hrycenko for the group's third album, Heart Attack, which was released in 2013 also debuted as #46 on the Billboard 200 and #7 on the Independent Record label charts. The band has toured relentlessly, doing The Vans Warped Tour 2 years in a row, Russia, UK, Europe, Canada, and gearing up for a major US tour this Fall, along with Warped Australia, SouthEast Asia, Japan, and Hawaii.
