As the subject says, I'm looking for a replacement speaker for the Celestion V30 in my Bogner 1x12" cabinet. The V30 sounds great at low volumes, but when cranked is a little too 'hard' and 'harsh', maybe a little too bright as well. I mainly play rock / hardrock / grunge/ stonerrock and sometimes a little metal. Amplifier is homemade and around 18 watts output, think along the lines of a Marshall 18W meets Orange Tiny Terror tone-wise. It's quite bright, plenty but tight low end, a well defined punchy midrange and a fair amount of gain, bit like a JCM800 for instance.
I am looking for a more 'vintage' sound then a V30, but not as 'old' as a greenback (which is too bright/loose to my ears). My first guess was an ET65, but any advise is welcome!
