Vaughn's Velvet Custom AlNiCo 2/5 Stratocaster® Set

A Vaughn Skow Custom original; the three high strings receive vintage spec AlNiCo 2 magnets for warm and sweet bell-like tone! The three low strings receive '64 spec AlNiCo 5 magnets for defined and never muddy lows!

This Custom set is wound on the very HOT side of vintage. They still produce all the classic Strat spank, chime, and sparkle … but they also have a bit more warmth, meat and drive an amp a little harder than true vintage spec pickups.

Custom specs include:

• 0.187" Alnico V sand cast polepiece magnets on the low E, A, D strings
• 0.187" Alnico II sand cast polepiece magnets on the high G, B, E strings
• Vintage 42ga copper magnet wire.
• Hand-wound by a master craftsman with a distinct scatter-pattern.
• Calibrated for optimum Bridge, Middle, & Neck positions.
• Vintage pickup height tension conical spring
• Vintage Nickel Pickup height adjustment screws
• Pickup covers - your choice of black, white or cream
• Vintage cloth push-back pre-tinned wireleads
• Vintage correct vulcanized fiber work
• Available with or without Historic ageing treatment.
• Historic wax potting.
• Reverse-Wound/Reverse Polarity middle pickup for hum cancellation in combination positions 2 and four on modern 5-way Stratocaster pickup switches

Average Resistance & Induction at 70-degrees F:
• Bridge: 7.4 K/3.7 Henrys
• Middle: 6.6K/3.0 Henrys
• Neck: 6.2K/2.6 Henrys
(IMPORTANT: Specs change with temperature and many other conditions/variables, especially RESISTANCE.
NEVER use resistance as a firm indicator of a pickups output, tone, or anything else!)
